About - Children of Alcoholics Week 2010 14-20 February

Children of Alcoholics Week is a campaign led by The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa). The week aims to raise awareness of the problems faced by children of alcohol-dependent parents and to let them know that there is support.

Imagine coming home from school and dreading what you might find. Imagine having no friends because you’re too embarrassed to bring them home in case Mum or Dad are drunk, or worse. Imagine living in a home full of fear and having no one to turn to because everyone denies there’s a problem.

Join the effort to reach out to many more young people and let them know that they are not alone. We hope that together we will increase awareness of the issues faced by children of alcohol-dependent parents and the support available. Click here to find out how you can help.

Children of Alcoholics Week is celebrated internationally each year during the week in which Valentine’s Day falls. For details of Children of Alcoholics Week in the USA please click here and in Germany please click here.
